CREATIVE CLOSEUP: UN Transitions Project - Sustaining Peace and Development Beyond Mission Withdrawal Annual Report, July 2020 – June 2021
While among the most effective ways to promote and maintain international peace and security, the missions of the United Nations are temporary measures. The planning and management of the mission’s closure and the preparedness of the remaining actors who carry out the post-mission phase are crucial to the UN’s ability to promote sustainable development and peace. A well-managed transition can result in responding to the most pressing needs, allowing effective support to countries emerging from violent conflict. An ill-planned transition carries the risk of jeopardizing hard-won gains and may result in renewed violence.
The UN Transitions team tasked Alamini Creative Group with developing a dynamic design for the group’s Annual Project Implementation Report (July 2021-June 2022). The report highlights the activities of the UN Transition Project and serves as a results reporting to core donors as well as a vehicle for broader advocacy and communication.
Reports of this type can be tedious to read as they are full of important information packed into a limited space. ACG created a design that is clean, modern and engaging. It features reportage photography from projects on the ground as well as infographics that were developed to illustrate key concepts. The strategic use of large fonts and a vibrant jewel-colored palette help guide the reader through the narrative.
ACG received an GDUSA 2022 American Graphic Design Award for Annual and Corporate Reports for this project.
